|EAU THERMALE Avène Sérénage Beauty Workshop
Hey there! How yours weekend going on?
Mmmm ... are you busy ready yourself for a saturday night date or you will just stay in and relax yourself?
Well, i just came back from a 3 hours EAU THERMALE Avène Sérénage Beauty Workshop which held at Berjaya Times Square Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and now i am writing this to share with you something about this workshop.
To join this workshop it costed me 20 bucks but what i can tell you is - i definately 'earned' something more than the money i paid off.
Let's check out what was up in the hall ...
We all, the attendants for this workshop were lucky to have two brillian men as our speckers for the day, namely, Dato. Dr. Low Bin Tick (Dermatologist) & Mr. Damien Tavernier (PFDC Asia Pacific Trainer).
Frist, Mr. Damien Tavernier gave us an interesting introduction of Avène and later follow up by a speech from Dato. Dr. Low Bin Tick who generously shared with us his knowledge about and concern of skin.
There was an open ceremony for introducing the anti-ageing line - EAU THERMALE Avène Sérénage.
Later, Mr. Damien Tavernier introduced three new product from Sérénage to us:-
Everyone got to be so, so, so excited during the step-by-step guided pampering session and we were surrounded by Avène friendly staffs who were ready to assist us.
The six steps skincare routine to achieve clear skin:-
Makeup Removal --> Cleanse --> Tone --> Treat --> Moisturize --> Protect
After that everyone were actively taking part in Question & Answers and Lucky Draw sessions, lucky winners can bring home lovely prizes prepared by Avène.
Oops, before i forgot, we were not only entitled to get Avène products from the Guardian booth at promotion price but on top of it, we can use our 20 bucks worth voucher which is just good as cash!
Lastly, there was a refreshment waiting for us before we say goodbye!
Overall, I enjoyed myself during this useful workshop and i absolutely love it!
Wish Avène will up with another great workshop soon and also thank you Avène for the super goodies!
Aww! I just can't wait to try them out!

|Review: RIMMEL LONDON Vinyl Max ONE STROKE MAXI SHINE LIPGLOSS (301 ADDICTIVE)
Olympics 2012 is over but seems like London fever can never over in town!
RIMMEL LONDON is getting hot in the city, if you have been a lipgloss lover and always looking for something new in drugstore it is very unlikely you will missed it.
Most of the drugstores in town are putting up the posters and having great sales for the old & newly improved version of RIMMEL LONDON Vinyl Max ONE STROKE MAXI SHINE LIPGLOSS's range products.
First, how do you differentiate the old and new version? --->
You can get the answer by simply checking out their packaging.
The old version packaging came with a fully black cap, while the picture shown below is the improved version of lipgloss with its new design - half transparent half black cap on.
The colour shown from the tube is exactly what you can get from it (301 ADDICTIVE) with only one stroke, just as it claims.
It is a very very sweet pink with watery shimmer shine on.
The applicator look 'huge' at first but don't be fool by how it looks like, it is easy to control and use, with its help the gloss can glide on smoothly on lips.
Well, i guess by applying this colour, you will understand what is 'ALL EYES ON ME' and if you want to have a lovely kissable barbie doll's lips, this can be a good choice for you.

Today i will introduce you to a product from Crabtree & Evelyn.
Curious to know what is it?
Yes, it is no other but the hot product in town -
Crabtree & Evelyn LAVENDER HAND CARE COLLECTION ultra-moisturising hand therapy!
I love its lovely packaging - lavander colour for lavender hand therapy, it make it easier for me to spot it out.
The twist open octagon cap design is special.
With this, it is unlikely that it will open accidentally and the product leaks in to your bag.
The texture of this product is rich but it sinks right into the skin so don't worris about having greasy hands.
By using this you can have lavender scented softer smoother hands later.
Maybe because it is lavender scented i feel so calm and relaxing whenever i smell at it.
You can never go wrong by holding one of it in your hand, it can make sure your hand being well moisturised, smell great ang also it can instantly boost up your elegant look!
Well, last but not least, for those who are interest in checkout the ingredients list before purchase,

|Why toothbrush is an essential beauty tool?
This may somehow surprise you but the truth is, toothbrush is an amazing beauty tool. After realizing how handy can it be, you might even grab an extra toothbrush from the drugstore.
5 ways to use this tool :
1) Exfoliate lips
Run your toothbrush under warm water and gently brush your lips with it. Add sugar as a lip exfoliator to remove dead skin, also to keep your lips soft and smooth. Exfoliation makes your lipstick colour to last longer.
2) Apply hair dye
Touch up your hair or roots using a toothbrush. Using a toothbrush works wonders and makes sure the colour is evenly distributed.
3) Clump free lashes
After applying mascara, you may notice clumps on your eyelashes. How to remove them? Wiggle the toothbrush gently from the root to the tip to get clump free lashes.
4) Groom your eyebrows
A brow brush is used to groom eyebrows. Don’t have one? Use a toothbrush instead! Brush your unruly brows to make them stay put.
5) Scrub your elbows and knees
Exfoliate your elbows and knees so that they don’t turn rough and dry. Scrub them using a toothbrush and soap.
· Use a soft bristle toothbrush
· Always moisturize the skin after exfoliation
· If the toothbrush exfoliation is giving rise to new pimples, stop using immediately
|BeautyLabo Shake Shake Whipped Cream Hair Dye Review
The long awaited post on my latest hair coloring escapade! My fiance don't like me coloring my hair because it damages my hair but I just can't resist trying cute hair coloring products in the market. The latest was this milkshake looking bottle called Shake Shake by BeautyLabo. It's just sooooo cute!!! The come in cute chocolate flavored names as well like Peach Chocolate, Maple Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Caramel Custard and so on! I bought Milky Beige, a dark brown tone from what I see on the product.
so cute I can't resist trying one
reminds you of the Liese Bubble Hair Dye right?
Now this product is under Hoyu - one of the biggest Hair Color Manufacturers in Japan (popular & famous brands like Beauteen, BeautyLabo). BeautyLabo targets consumers at the age of 20s & 30s. It is one of the best trendy hair color product lines in Japan offering the best coloring performance (they also claimed to be harmless to your delicated hairs). Allowing girls to enjoy changing their hair images frequently without much concern to their hairs. From the voice of customers, it's the most mild and non-damaging hair color kit! Check out the video below for a quick intro and how to use
watch the video for a quick demo on how to use!
This is just child's play if you're asking me how easy it is coloring my hair. All I did was, without even looking at the instruction sheet *pls don't follow me, I'm just used to coloring my hair after SPM* mix the agent, shake it, and the bubble whip comes out. Apply evenly on hairs and after 30 minutes, wash it off. Being a product from Japan, there's English translated instructions inside so don't worry about not knowing what to do. Here's a step by step picture guide from me haha!!!
Take out all the items in the package
Don't forget to wear gloves, because I forgotten!
That's no good because we're mixing chemicals here.
Pour in the liquid to the can
Pour in the sachet of powder into the can
smells sweet O_O *shocks* maybe just mine?
Cover the can and shake a distance of about 30cm/1 feet for about 20-30 times
Open can after shaking, do not wait or it might explode!
whipped cream is out! (do not eat it)
start coloring your hair and leave it on for 30mins!
(please refer to video on how to)
BEFORE & AFTER
some say leave it longer than 30mins for brighter color
While I was mixing the chemicals, I couldn't help but smell it. Surprisingly it didn't smell like some ammonia bomb but it smelt sweet instead! (maybe it's just this bottle?) but when I applied it on my hair, I could smell the ammonia already. It wasn't overly strong until my eyes teared up (just like when I use Liese Bubble Hair Dye, very strong ammonia for Malaysia's batch but not for Singapore's batch!). I was just covering my hair and massaging it, not being very fussy trying to cover all my hairs as I wanted it to be natural or have some kinda highlight effect. After 30mins I wash my hair and could feel my hair stripped of it's natural silkiness. It's very dry so I had to conditioned my hair with the leave in treatment.
The product says it covers evenly, I think it does cover evenly (better than Liese Bubble Hair Dye) however with DIY hair coloring at home, evenly is really a subjective word. I did it "cincai" (simply do only) and I still manage to cover my hair evenly, though my top is slightly brighter (due to heat from scalp). The color Milky Beige turned out somewhat as shown on the box (only in daylight) - a milky chocolate brown color. Thanks to my black hair, you'll see dark brown during normal days if I'm not under the sunlight. Also another expected outcome as black hair eats colors.
Check out some colors I manage to find from googling.
Milk Carameliser & Milky Beige
Ash & Orange Series
French Chocolate & Maple Chocolate
Classical Honey & Caramel Custard
Bitter Chocolate & Sweet Brown
Peach Chocolate & Candy Pink
guess what you can do with the Shake Shake bottle?
(reuse, be creative, don't throw!)
My own photos were taken using iPhone 4 while I was coloring my hair (I can't hold big DSLR while coloring and nobody to help me take pics haha!). I don't mind coloring my hair again with Shake Shake, perhaps a different color like Candy Pink. Anyone else tried this product? please share your thoughts with me!
Price: RM29.90 (introductory price)
Packaging: milkshake bottle
Scent: sweet to ammonia-ish during mixing and application
Colors: Range of colors limited at Watsons stores
Cover Evenly? : better than Liese & yes can say evenly colored
Cover White/Grey Hairs? : no
Color Show? : depends on your hair, subjective to say.
Damage control: be prepare to condition heavily after

|Ayam Penyet Ria (The Summit) Review
my favorite ayam penyet restaurant
Anyone of you tried Ayam Penyet before? I know there's a few shops here and there in town. Heck I tried the one in Curve, at Kajang and at Gardens MidValley, still nothing beats the all time ayam penyet restaurant - Ayam Penyet Ria, The Summit USJ. Granted it's a bit far from where I am, I never failed to get my ayam penyet cravings satisfied. How? gorge myself silly with my 4 favourite dishes namely the below before I go back to the city.
ayam penyet, iga penyet, sup ekor lembu & udang penyet
kwaakkkkk kwaaakk (wait this is duck not chicken)
The Ayam Penyet Ria Story
blogging this makes me hungry T_T cries
the 4 dishes I love the most here!
especially the iga penyet (beef ribs) it's a MUST try
gado gado RM5.50
Gado-gado (in Indonesian or Betawi language), also known as Lotek (in Sundanese and Javanese) is an Indonesian dish or Indonesian salad consisting of boiled vegetables served with a peanut sauce dressing. It is differed from lotek atah or karedok for its fresh and raw version of the vegetable covered with peanut sauce. Another similar dish is Javanese pecel. It is thought to have originally been a Sundanese dish. It is widely served from hawkers carts, stalls (warung) as well as in restaurants and hotels both in Indonesia and worldwide.
the delicious ayam penyet set RM12.50
(comes with rice, mini soup, mini keropok buah)
I just love the crispy skin and bones on the ayam penyet. Using free range chicken, it's marinated and fried then served with white rice, kangkung, tempe, raw cabbage and cucumber. The meat is moist and tender, paired with the lovely spicy sambal and rice which I say brings me to a spicy heaven. I love spicy food so this just makes my day. The bones are not as smashed, but yes u can still crunch it down.
iga penyet set RM16.90
(comes with rice, mini soup, mini keropok buah)
OMG the iga penyet is no.1 I tell you! one should not leave this place without trying their best seller the iga penyet. What is it? it's beef ribs, moist, succulent, you can peel it off the bones and start chewing on the meat in your mouth. Slowly enjoying the meat-soft-juicy-fat sensation. All dishes comes with the usual sides of veggies and tempe!
udang penyet set RM12.50
(comes with rice, mini soup, mini keropok buah)
Udang penyet, while it may need you to peel off the skins. The prawns are big, juicy and fresh. I'm kinda particular with seafood, so this is a thumbs up. However one must get down and dirty with the udang, and I say forget using your spoons and forks. Just dig in!
sup soto ayam RM5.90
sup ekor lembu RM10.90
Honestly I wouldn't go by without ordering the sup ekor lembu (beef ribs soup). The broth is not overpowering or peppery like in some stalls, just perfect for pairing with the ayam penyet. Eaten with the rice, gives you a hearty meal experience. If you're looking for a more affordable alternative, try one of the soto soups available! chicken/beef (RM5.90) or vegetarian (RM4.90).

|Review: Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack
Previously was a talk about Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel and today i going to share with you another great item from Laneige - Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack.
For those who first came across the word PACK might be wondering as to what and how to use it, you may refer to my previous review post for Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX which i talked a little bit about it.
Anyway, in short, it is a mask.
Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack came in a pink bottle and claims that it can nourished skin from deep inside and leaves skin supple.
It contains Sogurty which is a specially fermented yogurt that promote collagen synthesis, defence skin from harmful external causes and anti-inflammatory.
With it berryblend complex which contain raspberries, blueberries, wolfberries, cranberries and strawberries, it also delivers abundant nutrition and antioxidants to eliminate harmful free radicals.
NAG (N-acetyl-D-Glucosamine), one of the NMF (Natural Moisturising Factor) and Niacinamide (a component of B3) soften and clears micro size dead skin cells left after face 'polishing'.
Other ingredients used include:-
How to use it?
~ I would suggest that you might consider to start pampering yourself by 'polishing' you face with Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel
~ Then clean and pamper your face with skin refiner (commonly known as toner or softener)
~ Scoop an appropriate amount of the product which is around 2.5cm in diameter by using the spatula provided and evenly spread it on face
~ Let it stays on for five to ten minutes then do remember to rinse it off with lukewarm water because this is not an overnight mask pack.
Well, i am already impressed with Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel for how it gently polished away the dead skin and of course its yogurt smell.
This time, not to my surprise, Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack is just another great product from Laneige - i really can feel my face have been well nourished and became supple, super soft & smell great!
Compare to Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel, Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Packs' smell and texture is more like the real yogurt and so maybe that is why potential users have been warned not to eat it and this is clearly stated inside the pamphlet provided by Laneige.
Thanks for reading and take care!

There's something cute in town and it's the opening of Benefit Cosmetics Boutique 1 Utama (New Wing). It's just like what you see in the Benefit Cosmetic videos, vintage candilicious looking store. Me & my bff couldn't resist not going in and we checked out the products available. Surprisingly the prices for Benefit Cosmetics has gone down! which is really good news for us Benebabes. |Gucci Guilty: Unleashing The Hidden Guilt
The Fragrance: Gucci Guilty 50ml EDT
I've been hiding this guilty *gulp* feeling for a long time and now I'm out to confess that I have a bottle of Gucci Guilty but I still love Gucci Envy! but but... somehow Gucci Guilty looks so seductive and dangerous that I'm attracted to it's power. Maybe it's the gold, even if it's not real gold nobody knows right?
going for a wedding dinner smelling & looking
like a thousand bucks
Many reviews says it's a soft scent of oriental floral that don't last. Somehow my review would be totally different *guilty again*. I feel that it's strong even with 1 spray on my clothes and it lasts over 6 hours. I only wear this during red carpet events which is something I seldom would do because I'm *guilty* not your average glam chic but more of a hippy chic who loves comfort. Maybe it's just my size? If I have a body like Angelina Jolie, to hell with glam clothes, I'll go naked on the catwalk (don't sue me please). Call me daring when I put this on, it'll be not the usual me but the me who wants to be glamorous, daring and sexy. }
gold liquid, gold body
ready to party and be guilty *not*
Sleek gold packaging with the words Gucci Guilty just screams I'm glamorous (expensively) naughty. Just watch this video and you'll know in a nutshell the message in this bottle of gold liquid, reflection your inner naughtiness.

|Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel|
If you are one of Laneige fans i am pretty sure that you have heard about Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel previous version - Laneige Strawberry Yogurt Peeling Gel, which have been discontinue.
Many people have asked them to bring it back to shelf, unfortunately ...
Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel came in a lovely pink tube.
I like its packaging for simple reasons, in pink and hygenic.
Hygenic in the sense that i don't need to swirl my finger in a bottle to get the product out and this definately help in decrease the possibility of it being contaminated.
With Sogurty which is a specially fremented yogurt it can soothe skin from skin troubles with its anti-inflammatory effects.
It also take care of you skin with its special berryblend complex which delivers abundant nutrition and antioxidants to eliminate harmful free radicals.
Berryblend complex contains:-

|Review: RIMMEL LONDON gLAM'EYES WATERPROOF MASCARA (001 Black)
RIMMEL LONDON first catch my eye with their nail colour then they catch my heart with their lipstick and now i am totlly in love with RIMMEL LONDON gLAM'EYES WATERPROOF MASCARA (001 Black).
By only checking out the packaging, three words to describe it --->
GORGEOUS, SIMPLE & TRENDY!
As always, RIMMEL LONDON's product with its elegant crown logo on, has instantly boost up its packaging score.
Simple in the sense that only two colour is used - black and blue.
Trendy - it reminds me of the unusual eggshaped skyscraper in London - 30 St Mary Axe (the Gherkin)!
The spikey look brush is great --->
It is easy to use with its slim design, eyelashes near the eyes open areas will be 'taken care' of too!
Eyelashes will be well separated.
In short, it gave my eyes an instant brighter clean look & i cannot rave about this stuff enough!

|Beauty shopping made easier (I hope)
It’s hard being a girl especially when there are so many things we need to make ourselves look the way we do (our very best of course) everyday. Once when I was at a beauty counter shopping for some makeup items which is as rare for me as making a trip
There are a lot of brands at the store, how should I go about sussing out the right products for me?
Janice: The best way is to see what's your key need - are you looking for a specific eye, lip or face product? This will determine how you start your hunt. Typically, I recommend going by brands that you trust first. This will save a lot of time as they carry products that you have already used before and know are less likely to cause skin outbreaks.
For example, if you are a Maybelline user, you will head to the counter and look by sections of Face, Lips or Eyes then look for the type of product that you want and then select the product based on your need. If you want a face base product, you can go to the Face section and all face base products like Two way powder foundations, BB creams, Liquid Foundations will be stocked in the same area, facilitating the consumer to find and determine which face product you are looking for based on the coverage and finish that you like.
If there's nobody at the counter to help me, what can I do?
Janice: If there's no one to assist, look for information at the counter itself. For Maybelline for example, if you want to find out info about the different eyeliners and the type of looks you can achieve, refer to the Eye Studio on display to see which eyeliner look you are looking for (before deciding on the liner to purchase). There are also colour charts for lip products like Color Sensational which may help in the colour selection of your favourite lippie. Finally, if you have a more specific question, I recommend posting your question online at the Maybelline Singapore Facebook fan page so that we can help you with your query.
There are so many eye, cheek and lip products. How do I know that the colour works for me?Typically, if you have a warmer skin undertone, you will look better in warm blush and lip shades like coral and orangey peach. For eye colours, look for shades like brown and gold like Maybelline Eye Studio Hyper Diamonds in BR-1 which has warmer tones; or even olive green! A person with a cooler skin tone (fair and mostly your veins will look more bluish), should go for pink blush and lip shades; and generally will find blue and pink eyeshadows easier to use. If you need some onsite counter advice, look for any Maybelline Beauty Advisor key outlets like
Jamie Ong, brand manager of Lancome on makeup
How do I choose from the stashes of eyeshadows and lipsticks at the counter? First, what occasion will your makeup be for – school, work or date? Jamie: For day or night? Next, consult a beauty advisor to learn of your skin tone – warm, cool or neutral so you know what colours complement and bring out the best of your skin tone. She will then share with you the kind of texture and finish based on your preference. For eye colour, you have a choice of shiny, glittery, matte or iridescent finish. The beauty advisor can then help you choose the colours that best bring out your eye contours and for the right occasion. For the lips, you can choose from shiny, glossy or matte finish, and from different colour families such as reds and corals, browns and neutrals, pinks and berries. For Lancome’s Rouge in Love lipsticks, there are 27 shades in different colour families. However, there are nine shades for each moment of the day – fresh shades for morning, pop shades for the afternoon and deep shades for the night – so it is easy to find a colour that suits your skin tone and the right occasion to wear it to!
How can I ensure that the product(s) that I buy are not an impulse?
You can always request for a flash eye or lip makeover from the beauty advisor, see if you still think it looks great on you after a couple of hours and return to purchase after you are sure!
Larry Yeo, makeup artist on the best way to test for the right shade of foundation: Test the foundation on your jawline. It should not show on your skin. Take three swaps of the foundation that are closest to your skin colour then blend them out. If the foundation disappears into the skin, that is the right match. However, if you have a tanned complexion, you’ll need two to three shades to even out the skin colour and prevent risk of looking flat with just one shade.
Erica Sen, senior trainer for Shiseido on skincare
When it comes to looking for skincare products, where do I begin? Always establish what are your concerns and what would you like the products to Erica: do for your skin. This would help determine the range (whitening, hydration, anti-blemishes, etc) that best suits you. Next, do a quick skin check to see what’s your skin type to determine type of texture and formulation (creams, emulsions or gels) to better suit your skin. Always consider your lifestyle habits when choosing skincare. If you are not one who would follow the many steps, keep to a simple three-step regime. Also consider where you spend most of your time, in air-conditioned rooms (cream textures) or out and about most of the time (emulsion textures).
Can I buy just one product instead of the entire range?
Erica: If you are not using any skincare currently, we recommend the basic regime of cleanse, soften and moisturise. This three-step basic skincare fulfils the most basic needs of keeping your skin healthy. If you are currently using some basic care products and would like to target a specific concern, then a special care item like a serum or a mask will do.
How do I know if the beauty consultant is not just trying to sell me the most expensive item?
Erica: At a counter, always ensure that the beauty consultants recommend products after a proper consultation. She should ask questions related to your lifestyle, preferences, if you are currently using any skincare items, if you have any bad experience with any type of skincare, your key concerns, etc. It would be ideal if they can also offer a skin check service should the counter have such beauty device. At Shiseido, we have a Handy MMS which is a five to 10 minute check to look at your skin texture (hydration) and melanin levels. At selected counters, we’ve also have a Skin Vision Machine that helps study the five key elements of healthy skin. They should always recommend products that address your key concerns.
Penny Lee, trainer for Luxasia on scents
There are so many fragrances at the counters, how do I pick out a scent that's right for me?
Penny: It depends on what image you want to project, type of scent that you prefer and occasion. Light and fresh for play, intense and sensual for evening, or subtle and delicate for day. However, with our hot weather condition, fragrance tends to evolve faster so light and fresh fragrances are best.
Will my mood that day affect my purchase? How do I ensure that it's not something that I'll come to dislike the next day?
Penny:You should be able to know if it’s what you like 20 minutes after spraying it on your skin. Let the scent settle down into your skin. This is what we call the perfume evolution. Body temperature will also bring out the scent differently. Food intake high in spices can alter the scent. So avoid chicken rice for lunch before buying a fragrance. It affects your senses.

If you need a step by step video for how to check for breast cancer, this is where you can get it. With this you can also get a risk report which will show you how you can find out how your lifestyle may be affecting your risk of breast cancer.
The Keep a Breast foundation is focused on exposing younger women to methods of prevention, early detection and support. This has a Breast Cancer Glossary and Facts to fill you in on everything you’ve always wanted to know about breast cancer.
You won’t learn much about breast cancer here, but for $2 or so you get to choose a addictive game and that $2 will go into breast cancer research.
